In positioning the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences and WSU Extension as world-class leaders in Washington and across the globe, we are investing in our mission to provide leadership in discovering, accessing, and disseminating knowledge through high quality research, instruction and extension programs that contribute to a safe, abundant food and fiber supply; promote the well-being of individuals, families, and communities; enhance sustainability of agricultural and economic systems; and promote stewardship of natural resources and ecological systems.
World-class leadership in these critical areas requires resources. Support from alumni, donors, and friends of the College is vital to our continued excellence in research, teaching, and extension and our ability to develop the next generation of leaders. Your gift enables the College and WSU Extension to continuously, strategically, and dynamically execute our mission while taking timely advantage of opportunities as they arise with regard to our mission.
Giving Opportunities
Annual Gifts are donations that are made on an annual basis and provide resources that would not be possible without gifts from alumni, parents, and friends. All annual gifts to CAHNRS and WSU Extension- regardless of size – are a statement of support for our mission and the continued financial health of the College. Participation in the annual fund is a strong indication of alumni satisfaction. Your gift says to current Cougs and other constituencies that you value your WSU experience and believe in its mission and values.
Make a gift online. You may donate using a credit card or electronic funds transfer, or make a pledge online.

Planned Giving includes all current or deferred gifts substantial enough to require the donor to consider personal, family, financial, tax, and philanthropic concerns. In short, planned giving is a powerful tool that helps donors maximize the personal benefits of charitable giving, and, at the same time, allows them to make gifts to WSU that they might have thought impossible. Many WSU alumni and friends consider including the University in their estate plan so they can contribute their annual gift in perpetuity, or to make a special gift not possible during their lifetime. This can be accomplished through a will or living trust bequest, or by designating WSU as a beneficiary in a life insurance or qualified retirement plan. Find out more or contact our office for more information on planned giving.
Endowments can support everything from scholarships and research to distinguished professorships and lectureships. An endowed fund managed by the WSU Foundation provides perpetual annual support for the area of your choice at Washington State University. A gift establishing an endowment creates a lasting legacy in your name or the name of someone you wish to honor. Your endowment will only be used for the purpose you designate. There are a number of ways to create an endowment. For more information, click here.
The College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences is committed to supporting and honoring our donors’ wishes. Your giving plan will be tailored to meet your interests and needs. Please contact us for more information about giving to CAHNRS and WSU Extension.
